Clean up gives me the wrong molecule

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me that. I'm trying to draw a macrocycle, but when I press clean up it makes the molecule into a circle rather than leaving the zigzag carbon bonds. I can't seem to find a way around it unless I adjust each angle myself which can take a lot of time. It shows as the first picture but I wanted something more like the second one.
